Parents whose applications for places are unsuccessful may appeal to an Independent Appeal Panel set up in accordance with section 94 of the Schools Standards and Framework Act 1998.
Parents are allowed to make an appeal up to 28 school days from the date of notification that their application was unsuccessful to allow ample time prepare and lodge their appeal. Appeals must be made in writing and must set out the reasons on which the appeal is made.
Parents/Carers will receive at least 10 school days notice of their appeal hearing as they have the right to prepare and make oral representations to the Appeal Panel.
After this hearing decision letters will sent within 5 school days of the hearing wherever possible.
