1-2-1 Meetings with SLT - 10th & 17th  June 2021

In keeping with current Government and DFE guidance, these meetings will be virtual. You should have received an email with your allocated meeting time, date and access details.

These meetings are an opportunity for new students and their parents to meet a member of our Senior Leadership Team. We will take the opportunity to learn as much as we can about your son so that we can support him fully on his transition to secondary education.

We will be hosting the meetings using GoogleMeet. For those of you who are unfamiliar with GoogleMeet we have put together some further guidance to assist you in accessing your meeting:

If you are accessing the meeting via a phone or tablet device and do not have a current Google Account we have put together some further instructions on how to set this up:

Induction Day - Thursday 1st of July 2020

We are pleased to invite our new year 7 students to the school on Thursday the 1st of July. The day will begin at 9:30 and finish at 14:15. A Light snack and lunch will be provided for all students. Please ensure your son brings a pencil case, sun cream and a water bottle to the induction day. Your son should all come to school in his primary school uniform.

You will have received emails with direct links to watch a series of informative induction sessions including;

  • an assembly with Headteacher, Chaplain and  Head of Year 7 Dr Ali Khan
  • a tour of the School
  • a presentation from his Form Tutor
  • an explanation of the transition work to be complete over the summer holiday

This event is a fantastic opportunity for new students to meet their Head of Year and Form Tutor whilst getting to know more about St Aloysius' College. Students will also be given important information about how to prepare for secondary school and their transition workbooks which are to be completed over the summer.

 Your Secondary Transition packs will be given to your son on the 1st of July and include a general Secondary Transition information booklet as well as summer workbooks for Mathematics, Science, English and Literacy. If you have not received these packs by post please email by Friday 9th July to arrange for a new pack to be sent to you.

We look forward to meeting your child in person and starting a fruitful relationship with both child and parents.

Free School Meals and Uniform Grant

Some secondary school students are entitled to free school meals. Free school meals will not be automatically carried over to secondary school, you must be apply through Islington Council.

To view the eligibility criteria and apply online please click here.

If your child is an Islington resident and eligible for free school meals, you will be eligible for the uniform grant as well. To apply for this you must fill in this Application Form and return it to the address stated at the top of the form.

It is important that all students eligible for Free School Meals apply and are registered as FSM entitled, even if they do not wish to make use of the free school meal. The school receives additional funding as part of the Pupil Premium Grant based on the number of students registered for FSM. This additional funding is vital in providing extra support to students and maximising their progress.
