To Join Year 7 in September 2021

Offers of places for admission to Year 7 for September 2020 were made by the local authority on the 1st March 2021.

Have you been offered a place?

Once you have been offered a place with us the first step is to accept this offer through your Local Authority. In March we sent you an email welcoming you and your son to the St Aloysius' College community. This email also included further transition information, the dates of induction events and links to our online enrolment documents to complete. 

We have made provisions for our enrolment documents to be completed online as we appreciate that this may be preferable to some parents at this time. Please complete theses at your earliest convenience.

We will be holding a series of welcome and induction events for students joining in September 2021 and their families. These events aim to ensure the Year 6 to Year 7 transition process is welcoming, informative and exciting for you and your son. Our events include;

Welcome Evening Thursday 20th May 2021

This event will be virtual. Our Welcome Evening provides an introduction to St Aloysius' College and key members of staff. You and your son will be able to learn about all aspects of school life in preparation for beginning Year 7 in September.

One-to-One Meetings Monday 14th June 2021

This is an opportunity for you and your son to meet with a member of our Senior Leadership Team to talk about becoming a member of the St Aloysius’ College community and ask any questions you may have. The meeting will be in the style of an informal interview, and as a school we will take this opportunity to learn as much as we can about your son so that we can support him fully at this exciting time.

Induction Day Thursday 1st July 2021

This event enables students to meet their new teachers and peers, get to know the layout of the school and learn more about their secondary education at St Aloysius’ College. All students are required to attend their Induction Day. Primary schools are aware of this Induction Day date and supportive of the transition process.

We will be emailing all parents nearer the time with further details.

Appeals Procedure

If your child has been refused a place at the school, you have the right to appeal against the decision under the 1998 School Standards and Framework Act. The deadline for submitting an appeal is 1st April 2021 and the hearing will be within 40 school days of that date. You will receive at least 10 school days notice of your hearing. Letters regarding the decision of your appeal will be sent within 5 school days of your hearing.

Boys transferring from Year 6 at primary school to Year 7 secondary school must apply through the London–wide admissions scheme. All applicants must submit the e-admissions online application to the Local Authority in which your child lives. The application process for September 2022 entry opens on 1st September 2021. Please check your Local Authority website for further information.

In addition, applicants must also complete our Supplementary Information Form (SIF) and Certificate of Catholic Practice Form (CCP) which can be found below.  For those of other faiths, a baptismal certificate or a written declaration of practice from an official faith leader is required instead of the CCP form.

Both forms should be returned to St Aloysius’ College via post or in person.

The deadline for all forms is 31st October 2021.

If you do not complete all forms (e-admissions, SIF and CCP) and return them by the closing date your application will be subject to the late application policy and the Governing Body may be unable to consider your application.

Offers of places for admission to Year 7 for September 2022 will be made by the local authority on 1st March 2022. Once parents have been advised of their offer of a school, they should contact the Admissions Department of their local authority with any queries.

In Year Admissions Years 7 - 11

Applications for in-year admissions are made directly to the school. Applicants may be admitted to years 7, 8, 9, 10 or 11 throughout the academic year if there is a place available. Please complete the 'Initial Contact Form' below and return it to St Aloysius' College in person, via post or via email.
