College Community gathered for powerful Remembrance Sunday Mass

Together, we remembered.🌺

On Sunday morning, our St Aloysius’ College community gathered for a deeply moving Remembrance Sunday Mass, celebrated by Archbishop Malcolm McMahon, a former pupil of the College. His sermon was powerful and thought-provoking, reminding us of the human cost of conflict and the responsibility each generation holds to build peace.

Turnout this year was exceptional, with families, staff, students and Old Aloysians returning to the College chapel. One Old Aloysian even travelled all the way from Belgium to be present — a testament to the enduring connection so many feel to the school and to this annual moment of remembrance.

Following the Mass, the congregation processed to the War Memorial on Hornsey Lane, where wreaths were laid on behalf of Governors, Staff, Students and Old Aloysians before we observed a two-minute silence together.

Afterwards, guests gathered back at the College over tea and coffee — sharing memories, conversations and reflections.
