Celebrating A Level and BTEC Success with the Mayor of Islington

Exam results season starts with a strong set of outcomes.

St Aloysius’ College proudly welcomed the Mayor of Islington on this year’s A Level and BTEC results day, accompanied by Council Leader Cllr Una O’Halloran and Caleb Jackson, an ex-student and Islington Council consultant. Also present were John Abbey, Director of Children’s Services, and Paul Senior, Director of Education, highlighting the importance of the occasion.

Headteacher Paula Whyte was delighted to share an excellent set of results with the Mayor and his delegation. This year’s A Level outcomes were particularly strong, with 58% of grades at A–B and 88% at A–C, and an average grade per entry of B–. These figures represent a clear rise on 2024 results, where 48% of grades were A–B and 72% A–C.

BTEC results were equally impressive, with an average grade per entry of Distinction*. This remarkable achievement reflects the commitment, resilience, and ambition of students across both pathways.

Headteacher Paula Whyte praised the success of the day, saying:
“We are incredibly proud of our students and their teachers. These results are a resounding success and a testament to the hard work, dedication, and talent of our school community.”

The Mayor and his delegation congratulated students personally, acknowledging both their academic progress and the school’s contribution to raising aspirations for young people in Islington.
