Robert Mahon joins St Aloysius' College as Headteacher in September

We are delighted to announce the appointment of Mr Robert Mahon as Headteacher from September 2026.
Mr Mahon returns to St Aloysius’ with a deep understanding of the College, having previously served as Assistant Headteacher. He joins us following his role as Deputy Headteacher at Loreto College.
Building on strong foundations, Mr Mahon looks forward to leading a vibrant, ambitious and inclusive community, where every student is supported to thrive.
Welcoming the appointment, Paul Lasok, Chair of Governors, said:
“Mr Mahon impressed the appointment panel with his vision for the College and his clear commitment to its values. The committee felt he was ideally suited to build upon the strong foundations laid by Ms Paula Whyte.”
Speaking about his appointment, Mr Mahon said he was honoured to return to the school community.
“School leadership, staff and families at the College have always shown a deep commitment to outstanding academic outcomes and the strong pastoral support that lie at the heart of our community. I have always been inspired by the St Aloysius’ community during my time here, and it is an honour to serve it once again.”

Reflecting on the College’s achievements and future direction, Mr Mahon paid tribute to the leadership that has shaped the school’s recent success.
“St Aloysius’ College can be rightly proud of its excellent academic tradition. The inspiring leadership of Ms Whyte has been central to this success, and I will work tirelessly to ensure the College’s achievements continue long into the future.
“I will have the privilege of leading a dedicated and talented staff who embed high-quality teaching in every lesson, while continuing to build on the strong foundations of a broad and ambitious curriculum for all.”
