St Aloysius defends its second-place position in Islington for GCSE results

St Aloysius’ College is celebrating another outstanding achievement, as the Department for Education’s newly released 2025 GCSE performance tables confirm that the school has once again secured second place in Islington for Attainment 8.

This marks the second consecutive year that St Aloysius has held this top-tier position, following its equally impressive second-place result for Progress 8 in 2024.

Headteacher Paula Whyte said:

“We are absolutely delighted to have retained our position among the top-performing schools in Islington. This continued success reflects the dedication of our staff, the hard work of our students, and the strength of our community as we continue our seamless transition to a co-educational setting. The result comes on the back of a string of hugely successful open events this term — another sign that St Aloysius is a school on the rise.”

With academic results well above national averages and growing interest from families across North London, St Aloysius is truly living its motto:
Be part of our momentum.
