Basketball Academy

Join our very own St Aloysius' College Basketball Academy!

Our Basketball Academy aims to provide accessible pathways with quality education alongside professional basketball coaching. We will support students in developing leadership skills, character and transferable life-skills through sports. Our overarching aim is to support our talented players to gain scholarships to basketball universities in the UK and USA.

How to Join the Basketball Academy

To be considered for the Basketball Academy, you must be enrolled in full time education at St Aloysius' College Sixth Form; either studying three A Levels or a BTEC course.

 

The Application Process:

  1. Complete St Aloysius' College Sixth Form's online application form
  2. You will be interviewed for a place in the Sixth Form in March
  3. If  you are offered a place, we will invite you to our Basketball Academy Try Outs in June
  4. You can enrol into St Aloysius' College Sixth Form and Basketball Academy on GCSE results day in August upon meeting your required GCSE grades

 

What We Offer

We offer an elite opportunity that includes developmental training, competition and support for 16-19 year olds who want to develop their performance and potential on and off the court.

Our Academy squads will be entered for the Elite Academy Basketball League, cups and regional championships as well as having a formal link to the national League with Islington Panthers Basketball programme.

As part of the Basketball Academy you will receive:

  • Team training kit and tracksuit (small fee payable)
  • Professional coaching for 10 hours per week
  • Weekly competitive games in college basketball leagues
  • Free access to the college gym and fitness suite
  • Fitness strength and conditioning programmes designed and monitored for you
  • The opportunity to gain Level 1 and Level 2 coaching qualifications
