STRUCTURE OF COURSE

This award is a two year A Level qualification.

Year 12:  The study of: Textual variations and representations, Language and gender, occupation, accent & dialect, technology, ethnicity, age, sexuality and coursework completion.

Year 13: Revision of year 12 content, Child language development, and Language Change.

CONTENT AND ASSESSMENT

Paper 1

  • Textual Variations and representations
  • Children’s language development (0-11 years)
  • Methods of language analysis are integrated into the activities
  • Written exam: 2 hours 30 minutes - 100 mark - 40% of A-level
