Year-on -Year Improvement in A Level Results

Building on the success of improvements in educational outcomes at St Aloysius College, students and staff at the school celebrated excellent results today. A key measure , the percentage of A*-B* grades, were a pleasing 29%, A*C grades again improved and A*E grades were also an impressive 100%, well above national outcomes.

Exceptional performances were seen in Maths with 30% A*A grades. Equally pleasing were very strong A*B grades in Chemistry  (75%), Spanish (50%),  Sociology (46%), and  English Language (37%).  Strong performances were seen in other subjects including History and  Art to name but a few. 
Students were delighted with their grades with many securing exceptional results including Dominic Kitson who achieved AAA and has accepted an offer to  study Biochemistry at Manchester University. Sameer Hamza  achieved A*ABB and will read Biomedical Sciences at Queen Mary.  William Sousa  secured  grades AAB and will study Spanish at UCL, Ioanna Papa achieved AABC and will read mathematics and computer sciences at Queen Mary, whilst Anthony O’Malley, who secured ABB, will read History at Birmingham University. Many more students have secured places in top universities. 

Ms Heffernan, Executive Headteacher, stated that ‘ It is tremendously rewarding to see the hard work of staff and students come together to secure these fantastic outcomes. ‘ Mr English, Associate Headteacher, was delighted to see the impact of the work of the school this year and how this has enabled students to secure their aspirations at university and in work.He also thanked Governors and parents for their support and looked forward to seeing further success at the school.
