St Aloysius' College Virtual School and Students Expected On-Site - Please Click For Important Information

Dear Parents,

St Aloysius' College remains open as a virtual school to all student with a clear expectation of student engagement and a range of resources available to students both on Show My Homework and the resources posted to your child.

For the children of key workers and vulnerable children, the College remains open and we welcome their attendance. They are not expected to attend in uniform but the same high standards apply on site.

All information during this period will be communicated via the school website and emails to parents, the letters area of our website will be updated with all outgoing emails. Please read in full the information on the Covid-19 Updates page of our website.

Please be assured that we are committed to ensuring that we do all within our power to reduce the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on students learning and attainment. We take this opportunity to thank you for your ongoing support during this challenging period.

I am aware that the present situation is a cause of worry for parents and as a school we are seeking to provide as much support as we can to students and parents at this difficult time. 

All students and parents have been sent details of the work for completion and schedule of submission of this work. This information can be found in the letters sent via email on Monday 20th April 2020 and in the Student Area of our website. To summarise; 

  • Students will follow a new timetable - this has been posted on Show My Homework and in the year group sections of our Student Area.
  • Teachers will set learning by 9am each morning which is due by 4pm the same day.
  • Students must log in to Show My Homework by 9am each weekday morning.
  • In addition to tasks, students will be set weekly quizzes for every subject. These must be completed by Friday each week.
  • There will be a formal assessment for all students in Years 7-10 and Year 12 week beginning 22nd June.

As you will be aware, teachers have provided access to sufficient resources online through Show My Homework and other learning platforms. Text books and work books for core subject have been posted to all students in Years 7-10. Your son has also been given a copy of our curriculum booklet and extra exercise books to complete work assigned. Please encourage your son to visit the Student Hub on the College’s website for additional online links to support their learning. During normal school hours teachers will be available to answer questions via the Show My Homework chat function if students require further information or advice on their work.
